Is there any way we can get the national 8 ball rankings that represent 2009 results only, aswell as the standard two year rankings that are produced?  In all other cue sports you get what are known as 'Provisional Rankings' which show who has ranked where in one particular year, so that everyone can see where they stand in the overall rankings aswell as where they stand in 2009 competition.  I reckon this would be useful for everyone, as there may be players who are ranked lowly in the overall rankings but had a good 2009 and are therefore ranked higher in the one year rankings based on current form?  Snooker does this, and it is used to get an idea of who is playing well now as opposed to who played well last year and has carried those points forward...

Just a thought...

TK, following that overwhelming response,, any chance you can email me the excel file that contain the national rankings so that I can sort it out and let those interested see where they stand based on 2009 performances?

Cheers TK!

Cheers for clarifying why the rankings are produced Lids (?),  , i do understand what the two year system is designed for, which is why I was asking if we could also get provisional one year rankings aswell, like they produce in other cue sports, as these are more reflective of current form, which was kinda the point of my idea...  This way new players like Adam Marlow, Danny Hunia & Dominic Mareko etc who have not played in previous ranking competitions can get a feel for where they stand nationally in 2009.

Anyhow, for those few interested, I have re-sorted the National 8 ball Rankings for 2009 points only, and have emailed them to TK if he would be so kind as to add them to the site...  :D  Cheers bro...

Makes interesting reading aswell, as the DPA have 7 players in the top 20 perfomers this year, inlcuding two of the best three newcomers and indeed the number one ranked player in the country this year!  Incidentally the best two players this year are both newcomers and also both from the South Island, so this is definately where it's at when it comes to pool in NZ!  Good work Adam & Dom, the future definately looks for the DPA!

I will also do the same for the Ladies rankings if there is sufficient demand, so let me know in this forum thread and if 5 ladies request it, I will get on the case!

You like that TK, trying to get the traffic flowing on here for ya...

TK,  any luck yet getting the only 2009 Provisional Ranking list in NZ on here?  It'll be a DPA exclusive...
